FACULTY PROFILE

Dr. Muhammad Adnan Ayub

Assistant Professor

PhD Chemistry

Dr. M Adnan has completed his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan in 2018 and part of research work from The University of Queensland, Australia in 2017. His research broadly concerns the optimization of extraction conditions for isolation of industrially important essential oils from plant materials to minimize the cost of end products. Another goal is to purify and characterize the novel compounds from herbal extracts through state of art chromatographic and conventional and advanced extraction techniques. Moreover, the biological potential of essential oils/extracts, fractions, and isolated pure compounds is determined through antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer assays. The species investigated into these research lines are mainly medicinal and food plants, in order to obtain chemical data that may be helpful to the development of analytical methods. Optimized experimental approaches have been developed to the evaluation of different interaction aspects between bioactive natural small molecules and target actions involved in curing various diseases.
