Dr. Momena Habib

PhD Microbiology
Dr. Momena Habib has been working as Lecturer in Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, University of Okara, Pakistan since September 2021. She has completed her Ph.D in Microbiology from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan in 2019. Her Ph.D work involved investigation the phenomena of immunocompetence in urban and rural birds using phytohemagglutinin skin test following challenge with migratory bird originated Avian orthoavulavirus -1 which is endemic in Pakistan. During her Ph.D, she visited Institute of Infection and Global Health of University of Liverpool, UK on IRSIP funded by HEC. She also served as a research associate in HEC funded project entitled ‘Preparation and evaluation of combined PPR and FMD ‘O’ virus vaccine for small ruminants’ in the Institute of Microbiology, UVAS, Lahore during 2105-2017. During this project she managed routine cell culture work propagation of PPR and FMD viruses on Vero and BHK-21 cells, Infectivity assays and neutralization assays, Collection and handling of blood / serum samples, Monitoring antibody titers in serum using cELISA. Her other expertise lie in a wide range of multidisciplinary techniques such as Molecular biology, Immunology and Cell Culture related research. Before Joining University of Okara, she has worked as visiting lecturer in Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
