Program Structure

The curriculum of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Islamic Studies has been developed keeping in view market needs. A handsome theoretical and practical knowledge is imparted to enrich the students for a professional career in the field of Islamic Studies. The graduates are quite eligible to work in Islamic Banks as Sharia advisors and Sharia Implementation facilitators. They can also opt a professional career in Takaful companies on good emoluments. Even the graduates are hired by the conventional banks as Sharia advisors launch Riba free products and to hunt the religious segment of investors. The Mudarba companies are also engaging Islamic scholars for the smooth functioning of their sharia-based systems. The private and Public sector universities are initiating new disciplines of Quranic study and Hadith science, Fiqh, Jurisprudence Sharia, and Law and social sciences cultural History studies and World Religions Islamic Economics and Islamic Banking & Finance and need of faculty are always there for learned persons.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidates who have the degree in MA Islamic Studies/ Shahdatul Almia or BS in equivalent fields in 2nd division/ CGPA 2.50 from an HEC recognized University. 2. The candidate has to pass the entry test (subject and GAT General oriented)and to qualify an interview taken by a panel of experts of the Department.

Degree Completion Requirements

To become eligible for the Mphil Islamic Studies degree a student must satisfy the following requirements: · Must have studied and passed Course Work of 24 credit hours, 06 Credit Hours Thesis, and Qualified Comprehensive Exam. · Must have earned a CGPA of at least 2.50 out of scale 4.00.
