Program Structure

The PhD program offered by the department provides a vibrant and dynamic environment that encourages excellence in different research areas. The students are provided with an opportunity to conduct in-depth studies and focus on research in selected areas of computer science. The program is intended to foster high quality and advanced research, to meet the society’s demand for high caliber professionals who are knowledgeable and well versed with the latest technologies and can provide a leading role in the academia as well as in the industry. A due emphasis has been placed on the applied and industrial aspects of the research.

Duration

Minimum 3 Years (6 Semesters) , Maximum 5 Years (10 Semesters)

Eligibility Criteria

MS/MPhil degree in the relevant Discipline. Relevancy shall be established by the Graduate Admission Committee. Minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 (Semester System) OR First Division (Annual System) in MS/MPhil. University Entry Test / GAT Subject as per HEC criteria.

Degree Completion Requirements

A PhD candidate shall be awarded degree on successful completion of the following requirements: Course Work with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 (18 Cr. Hrs.), Comprehensive Examination (written), Synopsis Defense, Research Work/Thesis (09 Cr. Hrs.), Thesis Foreign Evaluation as per HEC criteria, Oral Defense of Research Work/Thesis, Publication /Acceptance of at least one research paper as per HEC criteria.
